It pays to get your bike on the hoist once in a while . Just cleanin back rim & noticed a 2" split right in th middle of th tyre (original Dunlop) , still has quite a bit of tread but tyre is 7 yr old , glad I spotted that.

WOW!

7 years on the same tyres!!!

Either Dunlop fluked making a set of Superman tyres,

OR you don't do too much riding.

I concur .. "It pays to get your bike on the hoist once in a while" ..

I do a quick walk around & tyre kick before every ride ..
A quick going over every rub & tub ..
A total going over after an interstate trip .. & service ..

How many K's has the tyre traveled, Dinger ??

Also .. how were they traveled ??

Several K's every day or so over the years ..
 or
Sitting idle for long periods ..

Has the tyre dried out or cracked in any way ??

If the front is also an original, rip it off and replace it.  Rubber would have gone hard and I would not trust tipping it into a tight corner or worse, riding with it in the wet.
