Lionel "Roadtrain" White passed away peacefully on the morning of 2nd February 2020,
Lionel was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife Lyndell,
sons Tony and Colin, grandchildren Cooper, Jayda, Eliana and Adelyn
Lionel was one of HDOZ founding members who contributed greatly to the forum over
many years and to a lot of HDOZ members he was simply known as "Roadtrain" but to
many more who knew and met Roadtrain he was a legend, a friend and a close mate who
always filled the air with his good nature, humour or one of his many bike related stories
which were plentiful and always entertaining. Roadtrain loved riding and from a very early
age in his life he chose to spend as much time as possible in the saddle of one of his many
bikes clocking up mile after mile for many decades mostly with his desire to take the long
way around in preference to the more direct route to his desired location

Roadtrain's love of outback Australia is well documented with both stories and his brilliant
photography and this was without any doubt one of his favourite places to ride, Roadtrain
loved being in and riding around outback Australia and his request to have his ashes
scattered along his favourite part of the Nullabor Plains will forever keep him happy in a
place he so much loved.

The later years of Roadtrain's life were sometimes trying with his mobility being a problem
and this is when his good friend and fellow forum member "Wozza" along with Wozza's wife
Linda stepped up and made sure his love of motorcycling and fishing were not just distant
memories from the past and their journeys and many family holidays together gave Lionel
and Lyndell much pleasure.
The order of the day for Roadtrain and Wozza was to have as many trips as possible to a
variety of classic motorcycle race meetings and fishing trips, the race meetings gave Roadtrain
the opportunity to enjoy his photography skills and the fishing trips gave him just as much
pleasure to showcase his hand made lures. Roadtrain was a very talented lure maker and as
any good fisherman will tell you it is what is on the end of the line that counts for that perfect
catch and this is where Lionel's hand made lures come into their own.

On behalf of HDOZ and all it's members we thank you one last time "ROADTRAIN" for your
great contribution to the forum.
