 After reading Reds post
After reading Reds report on his Dealer. Whooooo.
I just wish I had such a kind Dealer here...
Friday arvo washing the fat on readiness for the Monto run.
Jack the arse end up to dry the rear wheel on the jack..
On turning the wheel I noticed a fricken hole clean through the belt...looks like I picked up a stone...
Slept on it for the night. Got the better of me and took it down to the local for a second opinion...
Of course the verdict was always going to be grim.
New belt. I asked would they risk taking out of town....mmmmmm. Was the answer of course. Who would put their word on a belt.....
But the tech said...if it was around town only bike I wouldn’t worry about it. Ride it until it breaks.....but.
Never the less....quoted around 800 to a grand to repair. Could be less. Depending
Never mind. Drove to Monto and had a blast...
3000km bike goes in Wednesday for a new belt......bastard.

 Re: After Reading Reds Post
Shame about those thin belts, my FXSTC picked up a stone that went right through it, about a 3/16th hole, that belt stayed on for the next 6 six years of my ownership and is still on the bike, 3 owners later.
Its a shame Harley still hasn't been able to design a bike that you can fit a belt on the fly.

 Re: After reading Reds post
Well the good news to all of this...
Wifey was talking to the owner of the shop today and he didn't know about this...
I didnt speak to him direct on Saturday....He was busy selling a bike.
Its a Warrenty job so he informed the Wifey today......Ye fucking hay.......
He only asked if the Belt guards are still on it....As it is.
So yeah....

Bloody oath mate...
I really wouldnt thought you could claim it as Warrenty.
But as the Dealer told the Misses....
If the Gaurds are still on the bike. Its covered. Surprised I is.
He got on the Phone in front of the wife..Called the Workshop and notified them..

That's a great outcome Robo. Like you, I wouldn't have thought a belt would be covered under warranty unless it totally failed for no apparent reason. Kudos to the dealer.

Yeah.....Bit a luck my way that I will run with..
They also went on to say to the wife...Thanks for not taken the risk on going out of town with it...
Because if it failed they would've had to come and get us.....Under the Warranty thing.
Again....I thought RACQ was Harley Assist. Thats who I would've been ringing if it failed.. RACQ.
But never mind....Getting replaced tomorrow. SO all good.

 Re: After reading Reds post
Just annuder up date on this Rubber band that moves our bikes into action...
Apparently, Harley Doesn't cover this part on Warranty from Stones....
Only if its a flaw fault in the rubber band....In my case it is.
