Bonsai

So far everything they have done is by the books.
Stuff that they are entitled to do.

Apparently if I had the crash a month later I would be in a better position financially.
They actually now pay your wages equivalent as you go, in much the same way as workers compensation.

I asked them for some more money to survive on, and they gave me a whole heap of paperwork to fill out.
My solicitor said that given Im getting income protection money, it is unlikely they will pay any extra.

Had a chat to my bank manager. Wanted to see if I could get some type of overdraft going that could be run until the insurance company settled.
Unfortunately they cant do anything as they need to know that I have regular income.
If there is a chance that the income protection money runs out before I return to work, or a settlement is made, Im on my own.
If, as some have mentioned, I am unable to return to work, then I will be left with no option than to get onto Centrelink benefits.
I looked at that as an option while I waited for the income protection to kick in.
About 100 pages of forms to fill out, on top of the information they already have on me.
All to get money, which they will receive back in full once a settlement is made.

The whole system is crazy the way ot treats innocent victims of road crashes.

Maybe the new system they have in place will make it easier to survive.

Was thinking about talking to my solicitor more about it, but any minor question gets a response by mail on embossed paper.
Thinking he is charging me around 100 bucks for minor shit like that.

Hope he is worth what it will cost me in the end.

Cheers

Rob

Good on ya Rob, must admit you have a great attitude mate!
The coming treason trials will be an awesome event, with the banks, politicians and insurance companies drawn and quartered!

Bit of an update.

Things have been happening.

As a result of seeing the Insurance Company specialist, they sent me for a SPECT/CT.
They inject radioactive crap into you, then wait until it gets absorbed and then do the CT.

This is likely to become familiar to the older guys and girls, as it is actually a bone density test.

Had the test done on the 20th June.
Got a phone call from my surgeon on 11th July.
Surgery as he initially requested has been approved.

Need to get some more tests done.
Up to date X Rays, CT scans and MRI.

Surgery could happen in as little as 2 weeks, but may be a bit longer.

Need to get the ducks lined up properly in my persoanl life before going away for up to 2 weeks.

So I can look forward to a return to work in January or February.

Just going forward with the original idea of a 2 level fusion
S1 to L5 L5 to L4

8 hours surgery apparently.
Long time to put in 2 rods and a few screws.

Apparently its about an 80k surgery cost

Hi Rob, so verg similar to mine. I believe mine went for just over  8 hours. Good luck with it all. So how soon before you go in to have it.
Mine was 4th August 2014, was end November when was allowed back on bike. First short ride was with Rx & lovely Wife Jen as they come to visit me. Rode from Central Coast nsw to Warwick. I surprised myself doing it in one day.

Not sure on surgery dates yet.
There is a spot in about a fortnight if everything falls into place.
But I have a house guest at the moment with her own problems, that I need to get squared away before I have surgery.
Cant leave her in the house alone.
Family wont take her either.
Drug problem. Filthy ICE.
Waiting for a spot in rehab to open up so she can get help.
Once I have that in place I can get myself fixed.

Hi Rob,,  Well I hope you get the house guest sorted out, I myself had 1 of my Sons go down that path. anyway, I waited 4 years by the time I had surgery and by then more damage had been done and needed the 2 x Donor Bone wedges inserted. Chin up mate, ya near the end of the tunnel.

Well Steamer we could probably share some horrid stories then.
Not many people believe the some of the stories unless they have experienced the same thing.
Not a lot surprises me anymore with her behaviour.
The other night she actually called the cops on me.
Totally delusional.
They took her away and dropped her off at her mums.
She basically had no option other than to take her in.
Stayed there a night and a bit then dissappeared.
Only in her pyjamas.
Going to start calling her milk bottle.
Woke up with her on my doorstep this morning.
At least she rang rehab and hopefully gets into detox in the next week or so.
Of its face that much at the moment it cant be talked to.

Never a dull moment.
