Thanks Red

For me, the new Heritage is not too bad, best looking heritage so far IMO.
Love the look of the new Fatboy compared to previous models.
Not liking the headlights on most including the Fatty, they need taking too with a 5lb sledge hammer
Not sure about the stiff frames ... stiff frames means cracked frames, especially those over braced gullets    .. time will tell.
Agree with Davo, our current bikes will be well sort after imo.

+1 headlights look shit plus fatboy rims look japish....
Tourers look good.

I'm sure the women will come around after a month or 2....

I already told Rob he can get one ... but it has to be the red one

I like the Slim..
The lowrider would be ok too, but I figure if the moco can change, I could stop living in the past
& go for something different too
Havnt seen mention of a 114 option for the Slim tho', So there's still cause to tinker as well
read  - spend more $$$$

That's it man....
What I cant get me heaf around is the Breakout...
Supposing the best seller here in Oz and they go and put a 13ltr tank on the fucker....
Like really.
Ok...200km for me and its rest time. But gee wiz I would hate to be sitting there worrying about fuel on 200km stints..
The Fatbob when first released some years back done nothing what so ever for me....
I thought it was a beach bike with them big fat tyres....
Now I don't mind them...Last years rear guard was a fuck up for mine....
This years is in my opinion fucking ugly....
But like its fore daddy. It my appeal to the average after a period...
Yeah...Them wheels on the Fatboy have got me worried also.
Would like to see them in real life...
Chrome....Were is the fucking chrome.

Chrome ?? Why would you want it ??
The way chrome is done today {only 2 layer plating process now compared to the 3 layers of yesteryear} ..
Only to have it start flaking off after several months ..
plus with a lot of the new Harley owners [NOT ALL .. but a higher percentage] would spend more time tubb'n & rubb'n their bikes than riding

Which would probably explain the reason for them cutting the size of tank on the Break out too ..

They did say they travel the world asking the "riders" for their opinions & suggestions ..

But I'm keen to book a test ride to asses the handling of the mono shock ..

None of the 2018 range impress me, some are I think outright hideous. The Tourers and the Deluxe look good still, the Fatboy wheels are just plain ugly.

What were the MoCo thinking?

Post Re: 2018 Models

At least with the FatBoy you can now ride it through the Simpson Desert without getting bogged. lol

So the FatBoy is a touch under $31000 in black for the 107 motor, so any colours will cost extra, the 114 motor will cost extra, I wonder what else costs extra.

Has anyone heard any reports of slow turning for the FatBoy, it would have to handle like a old Manly Ferry is my guess.

2 of the softails grab my attention, naturally the deluxe, then the lowrider,
HD has taken a big gamble in order to attract new younger buyers ,during the model release wednesday night they said that was their aim,
I can't wait for a ride day so I can throw a leg over the  lowider, just to see what the monoshock/new frame is like,

I love chrome....
And one thing that should separate the, so called ''CVO" to the '''S'' is the CHrome.
Unfortunately. As with my CVO it looks no more then a Streetglide S. With a Premium SOund System.....

They travelled the world......................Yeah right.
Who in their right mind would rather a smaller tank on a Breakout....Cruiser style bikes.
Like I say....Each to their own.
I did think of buying a Breakout this year and getting rid of Jedda.
But after seeing the little tank................No Tanks......Get it. No tanks. I kill myself I does.

You are missing the point, the Street Bob has a smaller tank too.

Now for the point, the most a Harley besides the FLH models do in mileage each year is a couple of thousand miles, so round that out to weekly and we are now talking 40 miles per week, so the average yank rides to his local Harley shop on Saturday or Sunday morning, then on to his local bar or coffee shop, then home to mum and the kids so he can brag about the great ride he had.

So why the hell does he need a tank of fuel that in can ride 200 miles for.

No I'm getting the point amd I concur with what you are saying about the Mr Average who only requires a 200km per tank bike....
Little tanks also = less to build etc etc....
I'm guessing the average rider only rides at no more then 200km stints...Even on tour.
EG....
If I ride to Brisbane from Gladstone I would Stop Gin Gin Maryborough East Gympie and the big run in to the city....
But fucked if I would want to run from Gympie to Brisbane with a small range tank....
Fucked if I would want to have to fuel up on every stop....
Never mind.....Only my opinion. I wouldn't own a bike with a small range tank on it. No chance.

Robo , going by the specs you'll get 260+ k's to a tank. 47 miles per gallon is their claim.

mmmmmmm......You could safely cut that down to 250+...
So the low fuel light will come on at 200km....
Unless they've done away with that adorable feature....
Sorry.....I just see the sense in smaller tanks.
