Well you can put me down as a DEFINATE starter for this trip. I got plenty of time to save and find myself a bagger for the trip or could just ride ole dependable the bob.. Hey Kiwi to give me a rough idea for how much I'll need for the trip what's a ball park figure to give me a starting point , then ill start my slush fund for the trip.. Interesting it was my wife that told me to go must be my deoderant

OK.....just a very rough guesstimate

15000 klicks  divided by 300 klms per tank....50 fuel stops?....or there abouts
$25 to fill the tank?......$1300....give or take
28-30 days on the road.......$100 a night..........$3000
Service....Tyres??......$$
use that as a starting point

Just to give you lot an idea I spent around $10,000 last year with no skimping
and single motels most nights, oh and plenty of Carlton Draught. you could do
it cheaper than this if needed (I drink a bit)

Ill keep a eye on this, wont be doing the lap, cos Im already on the side you guys are trying to reach, but I can see the possibility of meeting up with whoever comes over at Norseman and bailing out at Geraldton.

We are going anti clockwise, last year a few came up from Perth and met us at Dongara Hotel.

On my Lap of the Map, Towing a trailer with head/cross wind from Townsville to Broome then a lot of head wind to Perth, was $1779.67.
Camped  all way from Brissy to Perth ( Except Cabins in C/Parks in Katherine 1 night,
Broome 2 nights, Perth 3 nights ) Then cabins & motels across bottom because of Torential rain and gale force strong winds from Perth to Melbourne.
Accomodation was $2093.90
plus Tyres in Brissy & service & rear tyre in Perth.
Plenty Pub meals.
 Total, $5500.

I recon that's good value for a full loop mate, surprised you got
out of it for that.

With all the head and cross winds
From Townsville to Broome and Perth then across the bottom. I lost anywhere up to 200km per tank full.
